Photos2Folders

Transferring photos from a digital camera to a computer can be tedious work, because we have to organize the files in folders. Many users tend to avoid this process and they will end up with their memory cards full. The purpose of Photos2Folders is to copy photos from digital cameras or removable drives and to store them in a system of folders and sub-folders. In other words, the application makes it much easier and faster to copy or move photos from a digital camera to a local partition.

Photos2Folders is absolutely free and it does not hinder you with adds, nag screens or hidden fees. You can start using the application after a brief installation process. You can also use it on various Windows platforms, from Windows XP to Windows 8.

There are two steps to go through, before the software organizes your pictures. First, you have to select the source and destination folders, on a compact interface. You can also set the application to organize the files in a system of up to four folder levels. Each folder can be named after the event, year, month and day on which you took the pictures.

You can select a different tab, on the same window, if you want to make additional configurations, like deciding to copy or move the files, how to process duplicates and more. When everything is in order, you may proceed to the next step, by clicking a button in the lower left corner of the interface. This will bring up a new window, on which you can sort the pictures and specify the names of your folders.

Instead of working with individual pictures, Photos2Folders can process entire groups. The photos from the current group are displayed in the lower region of the sorting interface and they can be previewed at any time. You may select a series of tabs, to name each folder. The application allows you to choose from predefined names, like dates, months or years, but you can also type in your own names. When you are done naming your folders, you may click different options to proceed to the next group or to start the actual sorting process.
